Ups & AES sent me some gifts today!
Well today has been such a boring day until ....ring ring? I open the door and the ups man says I have presents for you Mr. Riceburner! So I kicked him in the *****, shoved him out my doorway & said have a nice day! anyway he left a few items so I thought I would share it with my PC family. O I almost forgot I picked up my engine today woopee! its a 355 lt1 with forged rods & cc306 cam.. arp everything! theres a pic that shows a bad rod bearing that is what caused 3yrs of pain!

I'm wondering how much hp can this motor take? The crank is rated up to 500 horses and the rods can handle up to 750. Now its still a 2 bolt main but I did use arp studs! 2nd question is what kind of heads do u guys recommend? My engine builder suggested Afr's but I was looking in the summit catalog and the trick flows seem to be decent.. I dunno..... any ideas?

If I remember right, the Trick Flows are mainly built for forced induction. AFR's seem to be really popular but then again there are quite a few people putting down really good numbers with LE heads. If you have the money, buy some AFR's. If your budget is starting to look a little low, buy the LE's.
I wouldn't push the motor past the recommended ratings. You could have gone with a forged crank and H beam rods for a little more strength, but with just a cam and heads you will be more than covered.

i read an artical in gm high performance and they had an Lt1 355 with dart heads comp cam and an edelbrock intake and it hit 450 hp. you should be ok unless you have anymore power adders then idk
