Toronto area rental workshop / ideas?

Maybe you guys can help me.

I live in a condo but also like to work on my car. Up until now I was only able to do some minor things like change tranny fluid and engine oil while visiting my parents 2 hours away. I also did some body work and painting in the underground garage in my building but that was less than ideal.

I wanted to move on to more major work such as suspension and maybe drivetrain so I tried finding self storage places since I could leave the car, parts and equipment there for extended periods of time. Some of them even rent space with electricity which you can use as a workshop but due to some Toronto bylaw they will not let you work on a car.

I heard about car clubs where the members get togather and rent an entire auto garage for the club members to use but so far no luck in finding these.

Does anyone have any ideas or information that could help me find a place to do some work.
