They cause a restriction in the intake. In general, restrictions dont make power.

OKay I got one of these things. it is on my jeep, I bought it last month and it came with it, The guy who sold me the jeep said it gave him better mileage and more HP. I will take it out one day and see if it is true.

It's been dyno tested
you lose about 2 peak hp on a honda motor

The only applications where it could potentially work, is on BIG 400+ ci carbed or TBI engines... but alot of domestic V8's, just because of the OHV layour, have a built in port bias that generates good swirl.
Others have built in bumps that enhance swirl.... gen 3 heads, for example, have little 'ski-jumps' cast off to one side of the valve guides

FACT:

I Dyno tested a 2001 Type R motor with bolt ons made 178whp

Tested it withe the tornado made 178whp didn't lose power anywhere

#1 The tornado is not a restriction as you may think
#2 it does work on big motors with poor intake plenum designs

It does work on some applications, but for the 99.99 with a money back gaurentee you be the judge, its funny how so many people put it down yet have never tested it or tried it. I was sent to the dyno with it on different cars to see if it worked.

before u start throwing bricks at me, the car came with them....yes, it HAD 2, the idiot that i bought the car from had one before the turbo and one before the intake manifold

i was so disgusted when i saw them i immeditely ripped them out.

btw, that Volvo had worse milage than my previouse exact same one....
