yes that is true they change the whole cartrige
if you are lucky you might get a descent deal on the rebuild
if not you might as well buy a better turbo
was it oil and water cooled ?
if it was only oil cooled look for a turbo that as both it will last longer next time

Sure it does, extra lines cost more money.
And it is more places for leaks to occour.
And it is a pain in the *** to remove a water cooled turbo without it leaking everywhere.
Whatever, to each their own.

with the setup iam runing now and for the peace of mind it gives me
i think it is a great option to have
i personaly never had leak problems it is not hard at all to install
and one way or the other after playing with a turbo charged car
i always make sure every thing is functionale and go over the setup twice
to make sure there is no leak
at this point in the game if i would be worried over a 20$ pice of line
id start looking in a new hobby LOL

SS braided teflon hose and fittings can get pricey.
I have used both water/oil and just oil cooled turbos and I just prefer the oil cooled for ease of install/removal and a cleaner look. Most large turbos are oil cooled only.
