Single digit DD (stock longblock, KB2.8H)
Sorry its a Mustang
I wanted to share some of my exitement with the F body crowd.
I ran my 96 Cobra at Need2speeds Dead Hookers7 event at Bradenton Motorsports Park tonight. I was not expecting any stellar times due to the heat.
Boy was I supprised!
For those wondering, it is a Terminator swapped car. It has a stock longblock (with 05 revised Aviator heads), stock Cams, a T56, solid w/3.55 gears and minimal suspension mods (it needs some work).
I am not positive about the weight but I think that it is about 3350-3400 without me in it. Maybe a little less at the track though (I pulled the rear and passenger seat).
I am running a 3.25 upper with a 4lb lower, making 25psi on 110 gas.
For those that say you need cams and a stroker to take advantage of a KB2.8, I think that you are mistaken. BTW a little while back I ran a 10.59 @ 134 on 18lbs and 93 gas.
Here are the slips in order of my runs:
60......1.549..........1.469........1.438
330....4.380..........4.269.........4.201
1/8.....6.635..........6.511.........6.435
MPH....106.54.......110.09.......110.44
1000...8.572.........8.423.........8.342
1/4.....10.196........10.018......9.933
MPH....138.84.......141.68........142.02
The first run had about a 45min cooldown from the drive on the highway. After that they had about an hour and a half cool down time. The only differences betwwen the runs was launch rpm: 1st 5000, 2nd 5500, 3rd 6000
Big thanks to the guys at Race Related for hooking me up with a killer race tune and a very very smooth street tune.
BTW I put about 130 miles on the car round trip from my house to the track (including the 3 runs).
I drove it on street tires, bolted up the slicks at the track, than drove it back home on street tires.
I will probably wait until it cools again before I take it back. With a few suspension upgrades and better weather I am hoping for a 9.7
Once the vids for the event are posted up, I will post them here

Thanks.
Driving the car without getting on it much, it gets about the same gas milage as a stock 03 Cobra, which is about 16 around town and 19-20 on the highway. If I do get on it, all bets are off
The car sounds like a stocker at idle with stock cams and 2 1/2" flowmaster cat back. I have taken many people by supprise with it.
Here a a couple pics that were taken at the event. I'm still waiting on the vids.

Stephs swap is finnaly in progress. Advanced induction is working on our heads and cam package, I am rebuilding the lower end, and the sixxer is about to get the heave, ho!
This car was put together with leftover parts fom the 03 Cobra build up. It ran A LOT faster than I thought it would with the stock Eaton blower (10.89). So I put the 03 on hold and have been devoting my time to the 96. Now the 96 is as fast as my goal was for the 03. I can either try and make the 03 run 8s or put it back together mostly stock (atleast what I consider stock, lol).
Im probably going to put a stock longblock back in it with a Pro Charger D1SC instead of the F1R that I was going to run. On low boost and a mild tune it should make 550 to the wheels and put it in the low 11s at full weight.
