Rolling Shift ... Should I check the tranny
civic automatic transmission
today i accidently did a roll shift... i was doing about 40km and my floor mat got on the accelerator and i tried to stop by pushing the brake ...it happened so fast that i didnt realize it was the mat putting on the gas accelerator... just out of instinct i put the car in park and turned the key (i know this was a bad move )
as the car slowed because the car was off it was clicking - im assuming the transmission cuz the car was in park but still moving
it happened really quick... i started the car and drove home... the car drove like normal.. no shift problems and drives like it always drives... is there any cause for serious concern ... ?

10-1 it was the gear pin clicking when you slammed it into park.
Its not good for the car at all but if its only done once then it should not be a big problem. They made the tranny like that as a fail safe when people do that....ive done in lots of times in my old work truck (don't ask) and that tranny help up for years.
It if starts giving you problems then get it checked.
