launching at the track
last time out i worked on my reaction. got it down to a 0.040. so last night i tried to work on my launching. no matter what i did i couldnt do better than a damn 2.6 60'. anything i did i couldnt give it more than half throttle in 1st gear cuz it would spin hardcore. LACR sucks ***** but what do you guys do when you race at the quarter mile strip? i know good tires and some LCAs would help, but i know theres a technique to launching a stick shift. any tips?

your trap should be higher i think but idk what your altitude is...
anyways, ya launching a stick car sucks. id say get tires for sure. i ran my nittos at 30psi with no burnout and that was a mistake. i could cut a 2.3 best on them. in my camaro, with worn down crappy street tires, i was able to cut a 2.1 a few times which was real good IMO for the tires i was on. id say get tires cause once you get the method down, your tires will hold you back crazy style. if you can hook the tires down tho, rev it anywhere between 3,200-4,000 to start id say and slip the clutch till the car moves then dump it all the way. that will ensure if your tires hook, you prolly wont bog, but be careful with the 10 bolt.hehe

holy hell 2.6 60'?
i cut 2.0's all day long on my street tires w/ stock suspension. I usualy run 22PSI in them at the track
I just slip the clutch, not good for it but its how i do it. I usualy rev to around 3 -3500 rpm and slip it out fast, control the car w/ the clutch not the gas, keep it from spinning but dont bogg it eather, it just takes pratice.

well this track is going away. its old and sh*tty so i dont think i could do much better than 2.3 but next time i go i'll try the tire pressure and high rev with clutch slip.
