Its not pretty but the engines in !

Over the weekend I rented a hoist and by myself got the motor bolted down. Its been almost 3 yrs since I've heard the sound of my own car...and within a week or so I should have this thing started up. There's still tons of things that needs to get installed like the trans, headers plus I need 2 paint the engine again cleaning blah blah blah! :banghead:

I've been reading over on ls1tech about break-in the engine...and I'm scared now cause im unsure what oil I should be using and how to properly break it in ! I read that shell rotella is a good oil to use. Any advice ?

The way i have always known how to break in an engine, is just use an oil that has no additives in it, but taking it easy on the pedal.

Yes, shell rotella is one of the best oils to use for breaking in an engine. It still has the additives that are needed for proper break in.

The problem with newer oils is that they dont have some of the additives or properties that used to be in oil in the past.

Congrats! I can't even imagine how much you have to be looking forward to starting up the engine after having the car sit for so long.
