i'm getting screwed by warranty...need advice
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
basically i had a problem with my tranny so i took it to one of the recomended shops on the global warranty website and warranty people said the pump in my tranny was broken due to normal wear and tear and they won't cover it. my mechanic talked to them and nothing and i argued with them for a whole day and nothing. Now i have a 2700 tranny bill any advice?? i was thinking of getting a lawyer to write a demand letter but i'm not sure that will do anything and i don't want to throw away another $200 bucks

Damn, sounds like a headache we had here with one of our cars. They kept trying to blame every defect on us, rather than the box itself.
We wrote a few letters to their corporate office, and while they wouldnt refund any money they essentially created an "open warranty". It was like a warranty that was unlimited until they were satisfied it was fixed.
Getting a lawyer likely wont do much, and on $2700 bill i don't know if its worth it. I mean, we had 4 trannys go, electrical, cracked manifolds and rotors on a car that was less than 50,000 km. We bought it new.
Me personally, i would be pissed, write a few letters and document and expose them on the internet, other than that, you get screwed

Write to the Toronto Stars Wheels section if you have a legitimate reason to make them believe that the manufacturer should be responsible for the fix. Make sure everything is well documented before writing them though.

if its Mazda it wouldn't surprise me.
Anyways most wear and tear parts such as brakes arent covered but tranny pump? thats rediculous. how many kms are on the car before it went?
