car wont start!!
This morning I went to warm up my car. Its started fine went in the house 5 minutes later went out and the car was off. Now it wont start. The lights and radio work. turn the key and its nothing at all. I thought it could be the starter but why did it die and yet started up fine 5 minutes ago. Any thoughts? My friend tried to boost it, did nothing.

you didnt say what engine, so i'll just help with common shtuff
does it crank/turn over but wont start?
if yes check the following - sufficient amount of oil - check for spark [dissable fuel pump fuse, grab old spark plug and plug it into end of 1 of the plug wires, using pliers on the boot part, hold it to ground, get someone to crank it and see if it sparks, if it does spark then it's ok (if you dont have spare plug - pull one out of the block - this is also good to see if pressure builds in chamber, if not, then this could indicate that the cams not turning, hence broken belt/timing chain] - is it getting gas [frozen lines?]
CAUTION: DO NOT STICK YER FINGER INTO THE PLUG HOLE AS IT COULD GET SUCKED IN - just listen for the preassure burst and watch out for air/fuel flying outta the hole
thats the basics, if those r all ok, its a sensor/computer/
if engine does not crank at all ---> fukked up starter, fuseable link, other fuse, faulty wire, perhaps ciezed block (unlikly tho - take out all plus and crank by hand/wrench on crank pully [in the right diection])
let me know - hope that helps some

telling us the make and model of the car would help a great deal. Now when you hopped back into the car and tried to start it did the engine actually crank over or was the starter just making a clicking noise? Do you have a check engine light? Did it feel hard starting when you went to start it intially?
