basically they ask questions like an audi comes in with a vibration what is the first thing to check, or technician a says if using a compression gauge you can do this technician b says he's full of it. Really if you take teh practice tests on http://www.asecert.org/ that is exactly the type on the tests

yea every 5 years u gotta re up ure skills... and what not... there is 8 tests for diffrent areas engine, electrical, trans.. ect ect.. u can take 1 or all 8 or however many you want.

basically it proves you know what your doing, it's a license per se, the expiration depends on area frame repair was every 2 years

i figured if i left out obviously do, then i know you'd come back and say it anyways because you can be a smart *** like that. if thats what you meant. if it was on the question to arch, sorry i only know the basics of what an ASE certification is and wanted to know a little more. sorry for me wanting to learn about something. oh and your comment about making JF look dumb..he did it himself since he flamed me like i didn't know what i was talking about, but i didn't mmake the post with the sole purpose of making him look like an idiot i was simply stating what I meant and showing him about an ASE.
