its not a mid engine, but the RX-7 does have 50:50 weight distribution which is a selling point of mid engine cars. Maybe not what you had in mind, but the rotaries are tons of fun!

why does it have to be mid engine...?
for the money your looking to spend
MR2
Lotus Espirit
could have fun with a fiero GTP
for the cost of the NSX you could buy an older ferrari
first of all whats the car going to be built for then we can help you make a decision

Get a fiero gt with a l67 swap you can wipe anything on that list.Pretty much any GM engine will go in with ease. Not mention the GT is a nice looking car

fiero gt eh? that does look nice i wonder if i could fit the rx7 is outta the question cuz i don't i could fit in same with the mr2 the fiero did cross my mind but still have to research that a bit although a older nsx is temping cuz i've seen some in the 30000-40000 range in good shape and i'm sure if you put another 10000 in for tuning it would be quick and handle well the only bad thing i've heard about the fiero is that it does have the best handling can this be changed anyway thanx guys

L67 is used in Grand Prix GTP, Bonneville SSEI, REgal GS <- I think it's the GS.

I've seen a pic of some guy with 5L Mustang engine in there a few years back but he's from the states

gtp engine in a fiero eh ? that must fly! Supercharged 240+ hp right? damn that must be a lot of work to fit, but thats probably the best motor for it tho.

The bellhouseing bolts right up to the fiero transmisson.Mounting is easy most of the swap is use of other Gm parts. There are seral fiero sites that make premade wireing harnesses mounts and all the goodies.

L67=3800SC

direct drop in swaps for the fiero

93-96 camaro 3.4 (just bolt all 2.8 intake and pleunum and your good to go) the fiero computer runs the engine fine with an adjustable fuel pressure regualtor.Bolts up and is almost the same engine as the 2.8 but will last alote longer and puts out 160hp

Lumina apv 3.1L direct drop in just like the 3.4 puts out 140hp

The fiero has a bad rep because of the 84 these cars are damn sexy and handle very well. They were way ahead of there time do some searching and you will find.

Fieros are nice and besides if you ever get bored with it its a good base for a Lambo kit car.
