I've been looking at a few kits lately for the fox 5.0's. I've always been a fan of direct port, and always leaned toward NX (even with my vw's of the past) just because of their WHP rating, especially the plate systems that go between the upper and lower intake. the only kits i can find are 150-600hp capable, the one i like most is the NX twin gemini plate system but it comes jetted to make 300hp, my question is, is it possible to just change the jets, and jet it for 100hp and still be as effective, or would it be better to buy a wet kit thats already made and comes jetted to spray 100-150hp? NOS also makes a plate kit but i believe its well over 150 shot, 150-250 jetting is included i think. basically i'd be looking to spray the stocker just upgrade my fuel pump, plugs and probably add a full msd ignition, billet distributor, blaster coil, wires, and 6AL, and just have fun until i can afford to tear the motor apart DSS shortblock it and some AFR heads, then hopefully kenne bell it down the line, but it will take longer than i hope to get that far. i think 100 shot is just fine for a stock 302 with mild bolt ons, i know guys with 150+ kits who spray it daily for fun, not even making passes so i think ill be fine, advice is welcome.

Well, the NX Gemini kit is a good setup and makes very nice power. NOS makes good kits, adjustable from 75-250 and bigger setups as well. When you buy a kit, you just change the jet(s) according to your power level. On a stock 302, you can spray 150HP all day without adverse effects as long as your air/fuel demands are met. Talk to 5pointOhNo as he's very good with spraying 5.0s, his own cars have very good street/strip success...... I personally like NOS Cheater system.
Before you get the spray, install a 255lph in tank high flow fuel pump, adjustable fuel pressure regulator, upgraded ignition system with coil, and get the appropriate spark plugs. Don't forget to lower the initial timing when you spray.

so it would be a waste to buy the NX gemini and re-jet it to make only 100hp

I never said that, I dont even know that much about the NX kit. I'm not a big nitrous guy, I have limited experience with nitrous. From my experience, the KISS method works here. If you want nitrous for a street strip car, get any kit thats adjustable from 75-150 or 75-200HP and have fun. Most the of the nitrous kits out there work well.
