well if ur 5 spd stay with 373's but if ur auto go with 410's, frame connectors, dont waste ur time with shorty headers spend the extra buck for long tube. But in the end it all depends on how fast u wanna go and how much ur willin to spend cause modding a car can get real expensive real fast

well 410's can be hard on the body if u got a stick cause ur revin ur car up at the line. Like i have 410 with a lentech AOD tranny and a 3000 stall converter i need that extra power in the bottom end because of the tranny

but again it depends on what u wanna do with the car

like u can go higher then 4:10's but u wont like that too much at the pump 4:10's can be rough on gas but they haul *** off the line 373 are pretty good off the line and are faster on top end

like think of it this way if u want it for drag go with 4:10s and get frame connectors but if u wanna race on the highway aswell go with the 373's

then for ur motor find someone that can port and polish ur stock heads and do exhaust with 4:10's u will do well for ur first run then just ask around at the track what other guys are running and how they like their set up

I wouldn't suggest touching the cylinder heads. The stock 99 and up 4.6 cylinder heads are real good from a performance stand-point.

Allan, if your looking to modify your car, do simple bolt-ons. For example, under drive, pullies and cold air induction. You should also take note that if you plan on taking your car the to track, do one bolt-on at a time and see what times your are running. I suggest you join www.cmoc.ca. They're a great group of guys that will tell you exactly what to do.

Good luck with the car,

Adam

If you want some good NA performance, I'd do 4:10's, intake, full exhaust and VT cams.

Reason I'd do 4:10's is I believe that year stang came with 3.23's stock, not much of a difference going to 3:73's... plus the newer of the two trannies used in the 99-04 Mustangs (5spd, that is) has a pretty long 5th gear, so you don't rev too high on the highway.

I think it's mid 2000 or 2001 that the trannies switched, can't remember.

Also if you want to take your car to the drag strip, get subframe connectors, some nice drag tires and 31 spline axles when you break the stockers or as preventative maintenance.

If you're going to build your car around drag and timeslips, there's a lot you can do to the car without the need for more power.

Well if you're building it for drag in mind, gears do wonders for a start. Then I would suggest 31 spline axles and a really meaty tire, like MT's or Hoosiers on Weld Draglites or Prostars. Just having an awesome launch will do wonders for your ET's. Then you could go to lakewood drag suspension, springs.. lots of people use 4cyl fox-body springs, that seems to work well. All of that will help your weight transfer a great deal and decrease your 60' time.

Not much without emptying the car.

-Fiberglass hood
-A/C Removal
-Aluminum drive shaft
-Spare tire and jack
-Back seats

Etc etc

What are your plans for this car?
