emissions dyno unstable for 5.0 in GA
I thought you might have some advice for me. My 89 5.0 5 spd Mustang will not pass emissions in GA bc the operator cannot keep the speed within the reqd range while doing the test.
He can keep it there for about 10 sec, but either his foot moves the throttle or the engine speed changes on its own. He then tries to correct with his foot on the throttle and overshoots, and the test is ended. He gets 3 strikes and the tester shuts me out.
The operator sayes the car is unstable, what ever than means. The actual emission numbers were fine. It drives and idles great with no drifting as far as I can tell.
Have you ever heard of this kind of testing problem? Do you know a good operator who has a more stable machine or foot that might be able to get mine to pass? Is this a problem in my Mustang, like a vacuum leak? I am in Atlanta, near 85N and 285.
Thanks for your help,
Doug
