Media player pirated?

So I made the mistake of hitting an update icon and now I cant listen to music or anything. I tried to re-download version 11 but it wants to prove my is not pirated also (it is) How tha **** do I get my media player workin again!

Go download the latest codecs for the new media player. That's why you can't watch/listen to anything.

Where do I find the codecs? My XP is pirated, it wouldnt verify the update and now media player doesnt work. Thats the issue.

Downloads.com or google media player codecs.

Keeps saying "validate WMP" and obviously it cant. Ive DL'd lots of codecs..same keeps happening
