Z06 & SLR McLaren Pics
After cruising down to the waterfront today, we were all parked in line for about 5 minutes or so, when all the sudden two of the baddest cars came pulling up to check our rides,.......but instead of them coming over and checking out ours, we all immediatly swarmed these two guys cars.
As you well know by the title to the thread, one was a Silver Mercedes SLR McLaren, and the other was a new Black Z06 Vette. Obviously you've all seen the new Z06, but this was my first up close and personal view of one, so I was very impressed.
The McLaren on the other hand was absolutely mind boggling! The only thing that pissed me off was,......I was too busy drooling over the V12 under the hood, that by the time I ran and grabbed my camera, the owner had closed it. The hood's really cool on one of these, they actually pull/slide the hood forward away from the windshield about 10-12 inches and then it tilts up.
I went online when I got home to do a search on the SLR.......I couldn't believe what I saw for a price. They sell for $445,000.00 + a $3K gas guzzler tax, and another $2.5k tax for some other BS. I'll tell you one thing......for almost a half a million ~ I'd much rather buy a Z06 & a $350,000.00 house with a 2 car detatched garage. I mean there's no way I could afford insurance on one of those.
Anyway, I know pictures are only pictures.........but I just can't help myself. These cars are just too nice to not post them.

oo man, those cars are beautiful. the c6 z06 is truly badass, along side its appearance and power i love its exhaust valves and HUD. Its amazing how the exhaust valves open and close with a flip of a switch. A friend of mine actually owns a yellow Z06.. he has a video of his stock exhaust if anyone is curious on how it sounds and functions ( http://www.jaber.net/corvette ). Extremely badass and one of my favorite cars. That Mclaren is nice too but i dont really know much about it. The exterior looks awesome but im not really feeling the rear. I know it has massive power and is expensive. I like the front side pipe exhaust on that thing.

He was busy explaining it to the other guys there, while I was over taking pictures of the McLaren, so I didn't really catch what he said about them.
