You know you're an idiot when...

You are looking at my stepson’s 96 Dodge Avenger. It’s a very nice car that I broke through stupidity. It’s a long story, but I tell it for your entertainment. My car club, call the Garage Club recently had a drag strip track rental at Beaver Springs Dragway. The track rental is meant for club members to experiment on the track. My stepson never raced before and we had fun trying different things to make the car go faster. He started out running 18.40 in the QT mile. By running the air intake down to a fog light opening in the nose of the car, we got the car to run 17.30. Then, my buddies and me got the wise idea to duct tape a nitrous oxide line into the air intake at the fog light opening. We duct taped the other end of the line across the hood an inside the passenger side window (see pictures). I then sat on the passenger side holding a nitrous oxide bottle. The idea was, I’d just crack the valve on the bottle a little bit at around the 60-foot mark. DUMB IDEA!!! When I cracked the valve, the car whizzed way past the rev limiter, instantly smoking the tires, then started miss firing traumatically. OOOOUUPS ! We drove the car back to the pits. All the spark plugs in the front cylinders had the electrodes burnt off. We changed all the plugs and fired it up. It missed a lot better but was still messed up. A compression check found the middle front cylinder at 0. The car doesn’t smoke and it’s not leaking the compression into the oil pan. I think there is a bent exhaust valve. For the purpose of the auction, you are bidding on the car as if the entire motor needs to be replaced. Who knows for sure what all that NOS did?
We only had the car 1 month. We bought the car from my freind's sister who had bought the car new. All the miles were highway miles. It was never wrecked. To make it even with my stepson, I had to give him my 86 Monte Carlo SS. We are selling the Avenger as is. You can fix it our use it for parts.
There are 185K on the car and 40K on the motor and OD trans. The car still runs and drives but has 1 dead cylinder. The paint is fair. The general appearance of the car is nice. The tires need replaced. Delivery available within 100 miles of zip 17963 for $1.25 per mile one way. Other wise, you must come get it. Bring cash. I live 40 miles north of Harrisburg, just 1 mile off exit 104 of I-81. Good luck bidding and thanx for looking at my stuff.
