Okay. First of all, the main point of this thread was clearly a joke since the Raider is merely a reskinned Dakota.
Second of all, I can see Sky_Kid's hatred of GM is stemming from a severe lack in education. No offence, Matt, but you're not helping yourself when you're basing a lot of your opinions on nothing more than speculation and hearsay.
Simply put: GM is not half as bad as everyone likes to think they are. They post consistant above average Initial Quality and VDS numbers (not better than Toyota, but given their price points, that would be a given.... you don't expect a lot of quality from a $12,000 cobalt, nor do you expect a lot of quality from a $12,000 Yaris despite the Yaris being in a completely different class of vehicle).
They've begun to minimize their losses, and are expected to post a profit for 3rd quarter this year assuming all goes well with the Delphi bankruptcy which is before the courts right now.... (long story with this one, basically the UAW is holding GM hostage). And overall, GM still has the second lowest cost of production of ANY car manufacturer (only Hyundai/Kia beat them).
They make decent products that, while not benchmark setting, do everything well for a decent price. You can't complain about that. Especially when you have a half-dead Corolla and a borderline Prelude. Seriously. Take a new GM for a drive and compare it to the other cars at the same price point. You might be impressed.
