First time it happened was last saturday when comming back from a club . Me and sebaque's friends ( if anyone remembers sebaque from back in the day ) stoped at a corner store at 3 AM and grabed some beers . We proceeded to walk down the street sipping on the beers untill we found a taxi . We all got in the taxi with our beers ... I got in the front , and quickly put my seatbelt . At which point one of the guys from behind yelled :

" look at this canadian he's putting his seatbelt "

Hard laughter followed , in which the taxi driver , who surprisingly to me understood the native languag of the country , joined into . Then I got laughed at when I told them about how much we'd also be in with an open beer in the car . And they couldn't understand why u'd have problems , if u're not the one driving .

But I didn't learn my lesson . The next day , I got into another taxi to go somewhere , and quicly put my seatbelt on . The driver looks at me and goes :

"WTF are you from america , why are u putting your seatbelt on"

I go :

"I'm from canada , didn't take u long to figure that out hehe ... u have no ideea the we'd both get into if a cop would see us there"

him : "Well over here as a taxi driver i'm allowed to drive without it ... legally ... u should have it but cops don't mind it in the city ... but I normally know that everytime a guy puts it on , he's fresh from America"

And then again today , I get in the taxi and just slide the seatbelt over my shoulder , as i've been brainwashed to do . The taxi driver goes :

"no , why are u putting your seatbelt , no need for that"
me : "so did you also figure out that i just got back in the country ?"
him : "well I just got back in the country myself and dunno wtf u're talking about"
me : "where did you come from"
him : "Italy"
me : "ohh well that's a bit different"

Lol , it will take some adjustment living in Europe again

Taxi drivers here do not have to wear seatbelts at all, makes it too easy to rob the driver.

On the other hand, ever seen a car accident in italy? Lots of brains, not pretty (saw a couple while I was there), so I would wear a seatbelt regardless.

I know a couple cab drivers, apparently people would grab the shoulder belt and use it to strangle the driver, so it is now law that while in transit you do not require your seatbelt.

I think though, if your by yourself (no passengers/customers) you still have to wear it.

yea , just like here , but if u're in the city , cops normally don't mind if u don't have it , no matter who you are . The highways are faster though (130) and that's another story .

lol thanks GTAcars ... it's not a holliday yet though ... i've been working non stop ( and looking after asses ) ever since I got here ( can't afford the time to go after the asses yet ) .

but I am a lot calmer ... and I laugh at my friends from here that constantly ***** about cops and cabbies . I feel like hugging them . Cabbies are smart and respectfull , cops are the same ... compared to where I'm from . I'd advise anyone who doesn't like their country to live in Canada for a bit and then go back home ( provided that they are not the type who need protection to cross the street or be fed by others , or their govrnment doesn't worship bombs of course ) .

And on the same note I'd advise anybody who's never left Ontario , and thinks I'm an idiot ( you know who you are ) , to come down to some of the fast progressing european countries and see what I mean ...



oh last thing ... I went to the dentist today . Not gonna brag about getting worked on with the latest high tech and spending like ... 40 $ ( just like i don't brag about all of the old cellphnes 10% of which we might get in canada in the next 3 - 4 years ) , but this guy has an interesting strategy when working on guys , it seems .

He didn't use any drugs , just that all of the assistants , are hot , with long legs , and the dresses are so short that when they bend over a little bit , their *** comes out ( i can imagine the blonde whales complaining to the cops that the dental staff are dressed inadequately ) . And I was frowning a bit at one point and the guy was going to the asisstant :

"look he's hurting , rub your nipple on his nose , so that he forgets about the pain"

most of the times it doenst even matter. you you talk to cop normal and cool, and if the cop is not an he will just warn you and you are all good

it's different here

first off , all of the cops that had something to say to me ... you could read on their face , they felt sorry for beeing someone's ***** ... and that they just wanted to finish bugging me and do their jobs to get paid

second off all , I must have seen the hottest bitches dressed in cop uniforms in bucuresti ... lol ... but seriously , u'd drive nice just if they told you to ...

third of all .. a cop is directing circulation . in the middle of the road . my buddy drives by slowly ... puts his head out the window and goes : get the **** out of my way you stupid idiot . ... cop gives him a dirty look , and moves back a bit

another example , same guy , same day , slaloming through the cars going 80 km per hour . some guy in front of him sees amber , and slows down . this guy comes up his *** and honks . cop is RIGHT THERE directing trafic . The guy breaking runs the amber light . This guy slams on the breaks ... nobody gets hurt , nobody does anything really illegal ... cop doesn't whisle , doesn't pull anybody over for cavity searches ... keeps on directing the circulation .
