Riding Lawn Mower info needed

This is going to sound silly but, I need some info in how to make a Riding lawn mower faster. I have a MTD Riding Lawn Mower and I looking to getting it running and once up and running I need to make it faster.

Any info would be great.

Mike

That is always an option, but I am on a very very small budget.

Well, I got it running now. It has an idle surge on it. But I still need to put fresh gas in it and check the coil and condenser. I already replaced the spark plugs.

take the blades off the bottom and make it direct drive right to the rear wheels, its a single piston right, so it really high compresssion engine, run race gas in it, if you got some piping and a welder, make you self a nice exhaust (i can't belive i just said that) and replace the air intake with an aftermarket one (cone style) and yes they do have them, at home depot and canadian tire lol.

Its a dual Piston motor. I will check the aftermarket aircleaner. I don't want to remove the deck, because I still want to cut the grass.

thats even better man, what you do is make you own really thick head gasket to drop the compression and jerry rig a turbo for it, go to the junk yard and find the smallest turbo you can and hook it up, see what happens, or just run race gas.

mower racers say the best mod to do is make the pulley on the engine bigger than the one of hte tranny. i think some just use the original tranny gear and put it on the engine. and get a smaller one for the trans.
