RANT: V&T World Kingston. READ PLEASE!
So back in the early part of January my buddy, my father and I went up to Van & Truck World and purchased some 19" Rims but did not get the tires yet. Bill W. told us that it'd be no problem for us to bring the rims and tires (when we buy them) back to get an exchage for smaller rims if they didn't fit. His EXACT words (I have 3 witness' including myself on what he said). He also did NOT mention anything about a 45 day return policy and we talked about his old Civic with Air Ride and my Sunfire with Air Ride and how it was in storage at the time (obviously wouldn't be out in 45 days) and the SOB didn't mention the 45 day return policy, AND HE KNEW MY CAR WAS IN STORAGE.
Bill W. then told us they should fit, but check it out with a few Rims/Tires experts first. So I brought them home, talked to a few JCO/Non-JCO members and they said they'd fit if the fenders were rolled. I went to the body guy before the rims were bought he said rolling the fenders would NOT be a problem and after the rims were bought he said rolling the fenders WOULD be a problem. So I was left in a pickle, so I talked to a few other people (rims/tire experts) and they said simply cutting the fender would not be good enough.
Then I was checking out my car while it was at Creative Customs and my 18" rims were rubbing against the car and leaving marks on the inside of the wheel well. So I mention that and the fact that they won't fit without rolling so they just don't fit and I wanted to exchange. Well His boss comes out and we explain everything to him, the boss looks at BIll W. and says "Did you say that Bill?" (referring to saying they could be brought back at any time if they did fit). Of course Bill W. says No he didn't (that lying piece of ). We told his boss about him knowing my car was in storage and not telling us about the 45 day return policy and he said he didn't remember (that lying SOB). (There was a sign, a square sign with 4 sides, at the roof of the store inside the building that rotaded ever so slowly that said in small letter 45 days return policy. The stars would all have to be aligned to see that damn thing!).
So there was a HUGE arguement and i'm beyond pissed to say the least. I did not get my rims exchanged and I hope Bill W. burns in hell. I just wanted to exhange for smaller rims.
CONCLUSION: Buyer Beware. I would not reccommend those scamming piece of ***** to anyone. BIll W. will do anything to get a sale, including lying to your face. Lesson learned, don't deal with ******** that work off of Commission.

i've only dealt with v&t world in kingston once for some HPS brake pads for my z and all and all i had a pleasant experience with them. i ordered the parts, they came 2 days later and the price was dramatically cheaper than any place i looked. i forgot who i dealt with, but i guess every shop has ups and downs depending on who you deal with, cuz i know at v&t there's 3 or 4 different guys there you can talk to.

Ya sounds like you got lied to from day 1. As far as I know, most places will not accept rims back if tires have been mounted on them, not sure about used rims tho. I believe that a store must also have a clear display AT THE COUNTER of what their return/exchange policy is or something on the reciept (the rotating sign thing is a gimmic ad and might or might not hold up in court) They can say anything they want cuz its hard to prove, they go by what you sign (most sales contracts say something like "you are bound by the terms of this contract, this contract superseeds and nulls anything any agent may have told you"), if you record what they say then you got a case. Try walking in the place and see if they have a clear visible return/exchange policy in the store somewhere. If they don't, walk back in there and start snapping some pictures of the place, someone will get on yer case for that, just tell em its evedince and you intend to use it in court. The law states that for a return/exchange policy to be inforced - it is the business owners responsibility to clearly post the policy. If not and they say otherwise - its considered some kind of missleading sales fraud BS or something. They might be ready to take back yer gear right there n then just to save themselved the headache. Not sure of the specifics of it all so look it up. If they got a sign yer fukked, if not then take em to small claims court n try n get yer $$$ back. Hope that helps or leads you in some good direction.
Good Luck.
Good Luck.
