Ralph Philips caught!!
I don't know if any of you happen to watch national news tonight but the story I posted early this week made the first story of the evening. I must admit it was weird having Katie Couric talk about a story that basically unraveled in your backyard so to speak.
Philips was just added to the FBI's top ten list yesterday- tonight at around 8 he was caught. He was sighted several times last night and today was picked up during a traffic stop. He ditched his car and took off in the woods. After that he had no where to run.
There were at least 190 NY State Troopers, MANY PA State Troopers, Sheriff Deputies from at least 3 counties, US Marshals, FBI, Several SWAT teams from surrounding areas all converging on 2 sq miles.
He gave up without a fight and without any more shots being fired. He was taken into custody and being held in solitary lockup under constant supervision awaiting arraignment. He really screwed up for himself in that he crossed state lines so now there are added charges that they can keep him on until the case is finalized with the charges of Aggravated Murder and Aggravated Attempted Murder..both of which carry HEAVY penalties with Murder carrying life in prison w/out parole.
I can't say how much of a relief it is knowing that he is caught and in custody and that the streets are that much safer. The fact that he was caught and brought in without any other officers being hurt or shot.

It's good to hear the people that keep us safe will be safe themselves because this freak is off the streets. I'm with Par that it's to bad he's still alive but with the Fed's after him at least he'll never be free.
