That is retarded. I mean, I know cars are already governed, but this is nuts. I mean seriously, 150km ? Just enough to be a street racer. If they want to do this, why not make it 130 km, jeez, why not 110 ?
Do we really need to go anywhere faster than 110 then ?
Same old BS, police state.

Just another way to restrict our activities and show the Government's reign over us. How is it that something like this could be put to Parliment without the consensus of the population? It sounds exatcly as though the government wants to outlaw anyone that is faster than them...

theyre banning smart cars from the hiways aswell. capping them to 90 kph when they go in for their next service. which to me is good cause the things are fuken dangerous little death traps that may do good in crash tests in their class, but guess what, nothing else is in their class. lol.
can you imagine a corvette in 2010. 650 hp, limited to 150 kph. haha. but theres ways around that, computer reflash for example, or as was the case with my last car, you put the speedo on a toggle switch via the vehicle speed sensor wires and shut it off and go as fast as youd like.

people will find ways around this bullshit speed limiter. if theres a will theres a way. All you have to do is figure out how it works, and then turn it off. not that big a deal really, just a bit more trouble than were used to.

Why stop there? Lets put breathalizers/ignition lock in every single car built. No radios, no ads on the road, something that stops your cellphone from working...separate every person so they can't talk to each other...this is getting ridiculous.

in soviet canada, law makes the people !
Harsh and rough wow . Why do you guys have crashes down there . All those fat women that can't turn their body to check their blind spot fast enough in the large SUV or minvan ? Yea i guess those can flatten a smart car with their body alone, while jaywalking. The banning of smart cars from the highway is a bit ****ed not allowing the environmental people to drive long distances. That is definently not a smart move, but one that would get a lot of construction workers with missing teeth and mullets yelling "YEA" and talking about it, instead of some new hidden tax.
Yea yea ... there are ways arround that , sure . back in the days we used to go out and i'd burn my full gas tank in 300 km with my honda in 3 hrs tops, racing every****ing where with every****ing body. Anybody would go for a roll back in the days.
Now everyone is scared shitless, selling any visible mod on their car, selling their cars and buying stock ones, framing their 1.5 centimeter stack of tickets from E.R.A.C.E.R., P.A.C.E.R. , C.O.P.S. .F.U.K. C.A.N.A.D.I.A.N.S. .I.N. .A.S.S. , etc . . .
when they want to make a new law , the first years are tough . but in the end YOU WILL OBEY. resistance is futile . and all ways around the new speed limiter, short of moving to deutschland, will become uncommon in the next 5 years. they will make it so hard on you when they catch you without the limiter, and they will make it so hard to certify your car, that you'd be saying "**** it" , the same way many are saying now, instead of beeing able to go almost nightly for a 30 - 45 minute speed drive on highway 7, to blow off some mucn needed steam accumulated in the normal, daily life in canada, dealing with ignorant dumb government officials, public servants that can't speak english for in a english speaking country, rough traffic, communist work atmosphere, manufactured banking crashes, ignorant laws and the like

your so angry cosmin. but lets look at this, how can they possibly test your cars top speed during a safety to make sure its not over the new limiter law witout infact breaking the speed limit? not everyone has a dyno and jacking up the car and putting it on jackstand is jsut plain unsafe

angry ? you know what they did to me down there. canadians excuse incompetence with incompetence. they simply bend the law and cause so much bs in your life that you give up . and in the end , for the citizen ****s asking you " well why speed " turns out, those ****s are just properly sedated, and in the end, it is the architecture of the damn country that simply sux and makes people want to vent by driving fast WHEN they are not late, driving to work the length of 3 western european cities.
and this speed limiter , is just adding to the joy of beeing canadian. soon people won't be able to vent anymore like this. and they'll go GO canadian chinese dude one eachother's *** . I mean it figures the guy went balistic on the other guy ... he was riding the Go ... he probably lost his license to some inbred cop who told him he can't drive on the other side of the road, and needed to vent.
