yea Torrent kicks *** ... but given my slow hard drive and my lazy initiative lately i've been "downloading" my movies on DVD's from China town for 4 $ / piece .
Only downside so far is that some dvd might be put together by those guys who can't drive or something , because last weekend I bought Batman Begins and all the scenes were put in the wrong order .
Beats paying 12 $ to see 30 minutes of comercials next to dumb teenagers playing with cellphones and noisy popcorn bags though

I use a combination of torrents and newsgroups. Newsgroups on Rogers used to be so ing awesome until Rogers outsourced them to GigaNews and capped the speeds (still you can get 60KB/s consistently which isn't too bad).
GrabIt is a great newsgroup reader/manager. It is fairly easy to use. One kick *** feature that was added lately was the 'Grabit Search' functionality. You can search all of usenet really fast, but you are limited to 6 free searches a day. Most files posted on the newsgroups are .rar, and generally have a set of par2 files.
For torrents, I use BitComet, it seems to be pretty light on resources.
If anybody wants anymore information feel free to PM me, I'd be more than happy to help.
