Microsoft sued over Xbox Live outage

Strange, my live has been working fine. MS had a **** load of new sign ups as to why they had some problems....but to sue them for 5 mil over it is just another typical thing Americans would do.

Crazy, how can someone sue for that much in damages ?
Microsoft now faces a lawsuit over recent problems with its Xbox Live online gaming service. Three Texas residents filed a lawsuit Friday on behalf of themselves and others who have had trouble connecting to Xbox Live in recent weeks.
The suit, filed in U.S. District Court in Houston, claims Microsoft's outages represent a breach of contract and negligent misrepresentation for which the software maker is liable. The suit doesn't claim specific damages, but notes the amount is in excess of $5 million.
In the suit, the plaintiffs allege that Microsoft should have known strong holiday sales would tax its servers. "Microsoft knew the increase in subscriptions would increase game-play on its servers, yet failed to provide adequate access and service to Xbox Live and its subscribers," read the filing.
Microsoft has apologized for the outage and said it would allow Xbox live subscribers to download a free game. A Microsoft representative was not immediately available for comment.

they will settle out of court, and every live user will get a month free (it will get class action status before long) I just had that with google keywords last year, they gave me a couple hundred free clicks due to a lawsuit

thats so dumb. Yeah live has been working like ****, but who sues over that? I heard the rumor that they were going to allow one free game download, which is pretty cool and nice on their part.
But yeah Ive noticed live has been having some issues. If thats the reason I keep getting the boot in COD4 games, Im going to be pissed that Ive gone through 3 routers. Whatever though, its not a big deal.. its just video games. People who sue over a leisure like that are homos that probably sit on their *** 24/7 and game.

I had a problem around christmas where the sever went down I got annoyed after a few hours and called the xbox customer help line and it had something along these lines on there.. "We are currently having a problem with our servers, We are working on the fix. If you still cannot sign on in an hour call back." Thats probobly what the guy got his panties in a bunch over because I know there were a lot of people down for a day or so. Yea it sucks but damn some people cant bear to live without playing thier games online.

Personally I think this is just stupid crazy but at the same time I do think Microsoft should do something. Say for all the time it was down that much time should automaticly be added to everyone's subscription at the very least so we'd all get what we paid for.
