Long, but decent weekend.
Well Im back from my little trip... I have good/bad news haha... Ill start from the beginning.
Got home, got my oil all changed up, took the car out for a spin thursday... she was running great after seafoam, and having all the maintenence up to date... I just need to get a new belt soon. Friday morning, got up early and started detailing the car. Took me a good 4 hours with a couple breaks, but it was worth EVERY minute. My car looks majestic as hell... Ill be honest, I really didnt think it would look that great, but HOLY ****. It does look amazing... its the cleanest Ive ever had her. I did take a bunch of pictures along the way keeping in mind that Ill write up a tutorial on it soon on exactly what I used for my product and result.. Hopefully some of you can use it and get your cars shning nice.
Anyways, so get all finished with that and get my stuff all packed up for the 1 1/2 hour trip to the cabin. We go to leave for a Kwik Trip which is about a half mile from my house. Just as Im turning out to the highway, my car makes the loudest ******* noise ever... I thought my rear end ****** up at first... but then as I kept driving it was my exhaust... It split at the y-pipe and the vibrations were ungodly loud.. I had to drive to the kwik trip to stop and get it jacked up... sure enough the exhaust was hanging on the ground. So I got it reclamped and we were on our way. About a half hour later, going 60 happens again. Im like wtf, get out... This time I notice the hanger above the muffler has snapped.. I can move the whole exhaust with my hand. So jack it up this time on the shoulder of a highway... WAY too close to cars going 60. My dad jerry rigs some glove and a bungee cord for a hanger (lol I still dunno how it held) and another bungee to hang up the i-pipe.
Drive another 20 miles happens AGAIN. This time the i-pipe melted through the bungee... So now Im ***** for ideas. I tell him, **** it, just leave the i-pipe disconnected, Ill deal with the noise, I just dont want my pipe dragging on the ground. So he finds some zip ties and heavy duty rope or somthing... gets it all hung up. Another 5 miles later... yep you guessed it. Again. 4th time now, this time were right outside Eau Claire, busy as hell highway. We get it up again, and decide we need to get off the road... I get to a gas station and Im looking for anything to hold it up. We head to an ace hardware and get some steel wire just in case. It held for awhile again, but then it came loose one more time, this time I was in the middle of construction, barriers on each side... so here I am going 60, listening to my y-pipe dragging on the ground, sparks shooting... I had to drive a good 50 or so yards to be able to get over. One last time my dad gets the ****** up with the steel wire and its hung good.. its disconnected, so its loud as hell, but it works. I dont care, I just want the pipe not to fall. So we make our 1 1/2 hour trip in about 4 hours lol. I felt like **** holding my family up, but Im glad my dad was with to do his jerry rigging, because I dont have anything in my car to fix crap.
Next day we ended up taking it to farm and fleet to get it fixed so I wouldnt have to worry about getting stranded on 94 when I headed home today. Thankfully they got me in in an hour and had it fixed... they used a C clamp which I had on there first, but replaced becuase it scrapes like ****. Its super low and it bottom out once again if I hit a good bump in the road going 60. I need to get a band clamp this week and replace it. Its gay my ipipe is probably hella fd up now, but I suppose its working now.. going from seeing my car look prestine, to having my exhaust go to hell out of nowhere, my day got pretty ****** on friday.
After we got to the cabin, I had an overall good weekend. Only downfall was that it was on a gravel dirt road, so my car got dirty that day... It will only need a quick rinse, but I didnt get the pictures I was hoping for, nor the burnout vids due to my exhaust. I did get a lot of good pics tho, and Ill have them up in the next couple days, Im just tired as hell.. Ive bascially been sleeping since I got home. Ill put a teaser up of my detail job to tie you over for now. (damn this is a long post haha..)
