Import/export tax
Just wanted to know if I was to bring in car parts from US, is there any way I can avoid import tax? Someone told me that if the person ship's the item as a gift or ship's it with 0 dollar value they won't charge import tax... Does anyone know if this is true?

Say for example I buy a Magnaflow cat-back exhaust for my ride and say it's a gift worth 40 bucks (when actually its $400 US) ..... Would they book it?

Bringing a car over is VERY easy. A buddy of mine went to NY to pick up a car , drove down there with a uhaul trailer (didnt even know if he was gonna buy the car) , bought it got a bill of sale. When he got back to the border they asked for some US sticker of some sort he said he didnt have it. They went inside for a minute came back out and told him thats fine because its not part of canadas law. He paid the tax and drove on home. Simple as that.

yeah, they'll hold it at the border, find the real amount, and tax you on that. or just 'lose' the package. Whoops.
When you pull out a 5 foot long box that weights 40 pounds. they're gonna put two and tow together, and figure out its worth more than 40 bucks.
And if it's a 0 dolar value. You're an idiot. Cause people haven't tried that before
