Do people not give a flying F*** about old people anymore????
Another Rant about the jackasses walking around!
Ok so today I'm at work and I go down to the cafeteria to grab some lunch. Now I work at the Toronto General Hospital where there's lots of nurses and docs walking around at lunchtime. So anyways I get to the place I wanted to eat and there's this old black gentleman standing next to his mobile chair trying to get his jacket on. He's clearly having problems getting his right arm into his jacket. So I look at him a bit and his frustration seemed to be growing by the look on his face. There's a male standing RIGHT NEXT to him with his blue overalls (I'm assuming he's a nurse or doctor) and he looks at the guy, looks at me then F***in looks away and orders his food and is on his way. I was like WTF!!!! I asked the gentleman if he needed some help and at first he didn't hear me because he was just concentrating on getting his hand into his jacket. I ask again. He look up and says yes. So I take about 15 seconds out of my time and helped him out. The man looks at me and with a relieved look on his face says, "Thank you, thank you so much. Thank you very much." What did it take? 15 SECONDS!!!!! Meanwhile I notice that in the same line there's a woman there in her white coat F*$&in chillin!!!!!
It made my day to see the happy look on that gentleman's face and to hear the relief in his voice and the appreciation tops it off. The problem now is that I am happy that he's happy but even more angry at the fact that all the F***in retards that were there before me did nothing to help the guy out!!!!!!!
Whether race had anything to do with it is a whole other question but I won't speculate on that one.
I'm not asking for any awards because this should be NORMAL behaviour in my opinion. Thank you.

i agree man always offer a helping hand when needed and if it can be done. Especially something so little than can make a big difference. I beleive in Karma so if you do a good deed it will come back to you and vice versa.

lol, i see we all watched the news last night
yea, i dont mind helping old people out, like on buses and subways, i'd give up my seat or whatever.
the only time i dont give a **** about old people is when they're driving. i almost died because an dumbass old lady didnt realize it was red when i was walking across the street

Oh yeh for sure if you have no influence over the situation you can't really give a *****. I remember this one time I got cut off on the 401 and in previously usual fashion I bolted up behind them, went in the other lane when I could and bolted up beside them, revved the car ridiculously, look over at them and then there she was, an old asian lady and I thought for a second...Man what if that were my mom and some punk kid got her nervous and she crashed Since then I check them out before the aggressive driving .
Really though this incident is still stuck in my head. It seems people would rather stop for minutes to peek a television story about Bitchney Spears shaving her head (don't give a F***) rather than take 15 seconds from their day to make someone in front of you, and yourself smile, and that just blows my whistle!
What kind of people are we raising our kids to be these days (Not to say there aren't good ones though )

ya i agree completely helping some1 who is in need (especially an elderly person) is a must. now dont get it twisted im the biggest when it comes to other ppl but for an old person n in the incident your talkin about i definatly would have offered a helpin hand. as for the old ladies driving to an extent i can forgive because they r old n also because i would snap if some punk kid did that to my own mom. seriously tho most elderly ppl should stay off the roads

listen to all of you people saying you help out all the old poeple. elderly abuse is at the top of abuse in canada (no wonder why? no one helps them out) and all of you help out every time. i find that hard to believe. im not saying that its something we shouldnt do, by all means if people can help out then do it.... its just funny to read that everyone here is posting up saying they help out everytime someone needs its i find that B.S.
thats my rant.

I once saw some bitch walk out of a tim hortons, at the same time there was an old man on an electric wheelchair about to come in, she looked at him, then closed the door right behind her. I called her a stupid **** and asked her why the **** she didnt hold the door for thie obviously disabled old man, to which she replied "im really busy"
I could have punched her in the mouth.
I could have punched her in the mouth.

People these days are just "too" preoccupied with themselves and don't take the time to consider others except their own. It's a real shame... it's rare now to see people help each other out unless everyone is in a crisis or something is being given back in return.

thats the problem witht he gta. there are far too many ******** therer. you come to a smaller town like where i live and you wouldnt have had a chance to help him because someone would already have

no its cause the gta is full of dirty ******** that should go back to wherever the **** they came from. they dont give a sht about anyone but themself. 15 seconds in their life will not make a difference at all. holding a door for someone wont make them late for anything. people are just so ignorant in the gta i really hate going there for that reason. hell most of them wouldnt **** on you if you were on fire only because that 30 seconds might make them terribly late for something. people arent busy, jsut ignorant
