Corporate America...
Rant On: Gas is ******* rediculous today there is some serious price gouging going on, a **** hurricane doesn't make gas jump 40 cents in half a **** day. We are not running out of ******* gas, sick and tired of the bs excuses. And the **** government won't do a **** thing since they own the gas. so much for laws againgst price gouging. Oh and another thing I thought we fixded the communications issue after 9/11, well I guess not since all emergency are not able to communicate or get calls or anything. Makes you really wonder how safe we are from an attack. So much for homeland security department, we need to take care of our home first before we go policing the world. And our national guard is all out in Iraq so we can't keep order very well down there. Rant Off. Thank you.

I can barely afford to enjoy my car at the $3.00 a gallon(and rising). It's beyond ridiculous. Thank god, that I have decent MPG in my DD. My poor husband spends an average of $100-180 a week on gas for his truck. Its breaking him. That's why I gave him my Spirit to drive now. It'll help him out much more.

I got this in an email... i dont really see how it will work.. but i dont know i felt it would fit in here
I dont see it working, the smaller company's have to buy from the bigger companys... and **** down to 1.30 a gallon that would be a dream come true..
Subject: gas prices
I hear we are going to hit close to $3.00 a gallon by the summer. Want gasoline prices to come down? We need to take some intelligent, united action.
Phillip Hollsworth, offered this good idea:
This makes MUCH MORE SENSE than the "don't buy gas on a certain day" campaign that was going around last April or May!
The oil companies just laughed at that because they knew we wouldn't continue to "hurt" ourselves by refusing to buy gas. It was more of an inconvenience to us than it was a problem for them. BUT, whoever thought of this idea, has come up with a plan that can really work.
Please read it and join with us!
By now you're probably thinking gasoline priced at about $1.50 is super cheap. Me too! It is currently $2.75 for regular unleaded in my town.
Now that the oil companies and the OPEC nations have conditioned us to think that the cost of a gallon of gas is CHEAP at $1.50-$1.75, we need to take aggressive action to teach them that BUYERS control the marketplace.... not sellers.
With the price of gasoline going up more each day, we consumers need to take action. The only way we are going to see the price of gas come down is if we hit someone in the pocketbook by not purchasing their gas!
And we can do that WITHOUT hurting ourselves.
How? Since we all rely on our cars, we can't just stop buying gas. But we CAN have an impact on gas prices if we all act together to force a price war.
Here's the idea:
For the rest of this year, DON"T purchase ANY gasoline from the two biggest companies (which now are one), EXXON and MOBIL. If they are not selling any gas, they will be inclined to reduce their prices. If they reduce their prices, the other companies will have to follow suit.
But to have an impact, we need to reach literally millions of Exxon and Mobil gas buyers. It's really simple to do!! Now, don't whimp (sic) out on me at this point... keep reading and I'll explain how simple it is to reach millions of people!!
I am sending this note to about thirty people. If each of you send it to at least ten more (30 x 10 = 300)... and those 300 send it to at least ten more (300 x 10 = 3,000) ... and so on, by the time the message reaches the sixth generation of people, we will have reached over THREE MILLION consumers!
If those three million get excited and pass this on to ten friends each, then 30 million people will have been contacted! If it goes one level further, you guessed it..... THREE HUNDRED MILLION PEOPLE!!! Again, all you have to do is send this to 10 people and DON"T purchase ANY gasoline from EXXON and MOBIL. That's all.
How long would all that take? If each of us sends this email out to ten more people within one day of receipt, all 300 MILLION people could conceivably be contacted within the next 8 days!!! I'll bet you didn't think you and I had that much potential, did you! Acting together we can make a difference.
If this makes sense to you, please pass this message on.
PLEASE HOLD OUT UNTIL THEY LOWER THEIR PRICES TO THE $1.30 RANGE AND KEEP THEM DOWN. THIS CAN REALLY WORK

Now you want to talk about ********, I'll tell ya. They're watering down the gas. They have to be. Every time I fill at the pump, I reset my trip meter. It was so I could keep track of how many miles per tank (and calculate MPG) I was getting on average. For the past 6 months up until about a month ago, I was getting 250 miles per tank (with a +- of 10). Two weeks ago, I filled up at a BP cause of the Dream Cruise. Normally I fill up on my way home at the same Shell station, so I know 90% of those 250 per tank calculations were from that station's pumps. Well, last week when I had to fill up, I was only at 220. I instantly knew something was different, because I know I was hitting 250 each time, so I figured it was just cause I went to a BP instead of Shell. So, I went to my faithful Shell station, reset my trip meter, filled up like normal. It's been 180 miles, and I'm almost empty. There's no way in hell I'm going to reach 250, or 220 for that matter. This is getting rediculous.

Gas here jumped 20 cents in a few hours. I think I paid 2.79 (or 2.89) for 93 Shell today. Buddy of mine called from Atlanta saying some prices were as high as $6.25 for regular. I'm expecting to see riots if this keeps going on. Oh and this was a long time coming, the oil plants in this country basically all run at around 95% so if one goes out the others can not really pick up the slack. I'm just trying to imagine if the hurricane hit some place like Texas City, gas prices of $8.00 a gallon could have been possible.
