The craft is to be highly respected and upon searching the net for months, the only sites that I was able to dig up were personal portfolio sites and a few articles here and there.
Enter concept AutomotivePhoto.com,
Wouldn't it be killer if there was a spot that all of the best shooters in the industry converged and shared their techniques so others could learn and produce results of their own like I was yearning to do. So from that moment on, I spent hours in the book stores with pen and pad. Every title that had anything to do with Automobiles got stacked on the table and skimmed through. I built a list of all the photographers that were getting work. I then went home and Googled all the names that I came up with and searched for e-mail links and added them to a text files. Next I searched the online portfolio sites. I recruited the help of other interested photographers to assist in my mission.
I have been working on this concept for over 5 months with some extensive research and development. I have contacted many professionals and created a list of over 350 of the best automotive photographers that I plan on inviting to this site in a newsletter once development is complete. You are encouraged to post your thoughts and suggestions so that the site can grow.
My goal in building the site is to educate and inform the general automotive enthusiast community on the tricks of the trade.
- Learn how to get those "OH So prestigious one line reflection studio shots" that you see in all the magazines!
- Find the right people to get in touch with so that you can shoot that race next month and get paid!
- Share your results with the community for educated and effective critiquing so that your shots get better and better!
- Pursue your dreams and find work in the field that you love and are enthusiastic about. Turn your passion into your career!
