It took several attempts for her to get into rehab, but Britney Spears has finally finished the program.

She checked out of the Promises Malibu Alcohol and Drug Rehab Treatment Facility according to her manager Larry Rudolph.

"We ask that the media respects her privacy as well as those of her family and friends at this time," Rudolph said in a statement released by record label Jive on Tuesday.

The 25-year-old singer entered Promises on Feb. 22 following a series of strange events that saw her shave her head, get a tattoo on her wrist, and beat a car with an umbrella. Images of her dramatic new look were seen around the world, making many a tabloid magazine cover.

In November, Spears filed for divorce from aspiring rapper Kevin Federline, and though they share custody of their two sons, Sean Preston, 18 months, and Jayden James, 6 months, there's word a custody battle could be brewing.

Federline and the boys reportedly visited Spears during her time in Malibu.

According to his publicist, he'll celebrate his 29th birthday at a West Hollywood club Wednesday night. There's no word on whether Spears will attend.

There was never a reason given for why the pop star decided to check into rehab, however much had been made of her late-night partying only months after the birth of her second son.

A month-long stay at Promises reportedly costs US$48,000.
