Arrest follows bar stabbing (mississauga)
January 3, 2008 11:58 AM - A 24-year-old Mississauga man is facing assault and weapons charges after a younger man was stabbed outside a west Erin Mills bar late last night.
Peel Regional Police say a 21-year-old man is in hospital today with stab wounds to his chest and shoulder. The injuries are not life threatening, police said.
Police said it was about 11:30 p.m. when the victim and another man began arguing at JJQ's Billiard Bar on Dundas St. W., just west of Winston Churchill Blvd.
When the verbal confrontation escalated to "a shoving match," according to Const. William Patterson, the two were escorted outside by a bar employee.
Just outside the front doors of the establishment, the victim was stabbed in the chest and shoulder during a fight.
Police were called, attended the scene and made an arrest.
Michael Coloccia, 24, has been charged with aggravated assault and weapons dangerous.
