has anyone ever won the lottery or come close to winning it???
well i know whoever has won the lottery, they wouldnt even be posting on this site lol... but im curious, how many of you have come close???


heres my little story my dad and his friend used to play 6/49 and the 49..
and them 2 used to write down numbers and record them over the years and one day they were going to play these 6 numbers for the 49.. and then my dad said lets not play today. and the next day the exact 6 numbers came out that they were about to play the pot that day was about 1 million.. which would have been split to about $500,000 to both.
that was about 5 years ago yupp no joke.!!

This girl i used to work with bought her family stocking stuffers, some sort of scratch card.

Anyways, everyone scratched their cards with the exception of her bros. You know, typical trouble teen, too busy to chill with family.. LOL

Anyways, i guess he came home xmas eve and scratched his ticket. He ran downstairs freaking out....

I WON A MILLION BUCKS.....


Yup, thats right, he won $1,000,000.00 ... crazy eh.

This happened about 2001. Yes, the money is gone. Blew it all on his friends and cars. No real investments.

one of my friends won about 800,000$ i think on a scratch card...
the money was all gone into a new home and a car, i think a boat and cottage...
whats funny is whats going to happen with there bills and insurance on everything ahah

Long as you invest and pay for your house, maybe a 2nd smaller property to rent and retain a job, youre set.

Question is, what would you do if you won 1 Mill ?

Then invest some into a business and bank the rest... oh, and drive around in my viper for one year unemployed

lmao at driving 1 year unemployed with the viper..

with 1 million..
id buy a DC5 05 or 06 type S
put maybe about $20,000 into it.. store it for winters/rainy days
buy a nice luxury car maybe spend $60,000 into buying a mercedes, or audi or something like that.
buy a home $400,000-500,000
and continue on with work/school and be a plumber ahah
save the rest of the money which would be around $350,000-400,000 stick that into the bank

I've won a fair bit, I'd say over $5000 since I started playing about 8 years ago. I only buy tickets when it hits over 10 million.
Hmm, if I won I'd buy
1. Older style Viper GTS ACR, 1999 or 2000
2. Nice house, in Kitchener
3. Really big cottage in Lions Head.
4. Go racing full time, likely SCCA Pro rally.
I'd have to invest a fair bit, just to cover my ***, but if I had the money, there you go.

If I won that much coin, I'd Track down the unemployed bum in the Viper and blow it's doors off, then I'd return to my ultra clean car building shop to continue working on a 6 second drag car. prolly another camaro, I wouldn't hack a GN.....

Already have the $250k house and we just sold the cottage last year.... were going camping instead of paying that crazy waterfront property tax.....

i just started playing the lottery... feels so weird when i go to buy tickets for big draws

anyways, with 1 mill, i'll prolly keep 50k around, and either invest the rest in properties or lock in the bank for high interest. eventually when i get a couple million from all taht, move to cali and buy my 4500k dream house :thumbsup:

chances of winning the jackpot are so small i dont really bother... but as they say, you cant win if you dont play! so keep playing and maybe youll win one day...

but yea, 1mil is **** all nowadays. too easy to drop it within a year even if youre thinking "lets spend carefully"

if you wanted to retire rich with a 1mil, initial spending would be next to none.
so in that regard if ive won, i would probably consult a professional to see what their opinion is to make the most, safely, out of it. but probably invest most into property and hopefully coupled with his and hers income, would be enough to live very comfortable for a long time.

but if i was itching to spend it.

mkiv supra summer toy
backhalf the miata
mini cooper for the gf/wife
classy but humble apartment
small seperate garage/shop for car storage/work
give my parents what they need
property/investment

in 2005 I hit 6/7 numbers on Super 7 playing my usual 7 numbers.
Funny, because i wasn't going to buy a ticket that week but picked up the free Metro paper on the bus on the Friday and it said "a small investment will have a big payoff on the weekend".
Won $2500 only, if i hit all 7 the jackpot was $7,500,000.
I was at work on Sunday morning when I checked the numbers, and all I could do was constantly yell out "F***!!!" about 100 times.

Then again in 2006, me and 3 other friends pooled up $5 each to buy a 6/49 ticket, when the jackpot was i think $40-$50 million.
hit 5/6 numbers this time which was a little over $3000, split 4 ways was $500 and change.

I haven't bought any lottery tickets since then, i feel my lucks run out. Only time i still occasionally buy them is when the jackpot is over $20 million just for the hell of it
