anybody works for OPG?
either contract or full time employee, basically I'm wondering if they will pay for say your 407 ETR's fees? I asked my co-op office they say they have no idea, I just would like to know before the interview.

I used to work for them, summer and full time. I do not think they will cover the 407 fee, I mean they were a very generous company when I worked for them, but I think the 407 fee is pushing it. What department are you being interviewed for? who is your interviewer? Is it Ian Daily, scott travers? It is a really good company to work for the summer, the best summer pay of any company, and you get like 3 field trips during the summer to tour the various gneration stations. As a summer student the place is pure chilling, you really do not do much. If you are looking to learn, then forget OPG, if you are after chilling and earning good dough then there is not place better than OPG.
Mind you last time I worked there was 4 years ago, alot may have changed, I know that the government is mandating alot of changes, but with the turtles pace OPG moves at I do not think that things have changed much.
If you give me more info as to who your interviewer is and which dept you are being interviewed for I think I can help you out.

For a student they pay you like $25/hr but as full time new grad they only pay you like 55k/yr. For student pay they are the best, I do not think ATI or any of the high tech places can match them, for full-time their pay stinks with respects to consulting or high tech firms. All the good talent at OPG left and took the voluntary severence package. I left before the first round of voluntary severence was offered, I knew some new grads worked 6 months and got a huge severence package, something in the order of 30k, I think it might of even been 50k. The place pays out crazy severence packages each time the government changes its mind on the direction of the OPG.
But there is alot of nice people there, I do not really have a bad thing to say about how anyone treated me. OPG could have been a very competitive and successful company if the government did not interfere.

plant design.
I was just wondering, it'll be really nice if they do, even if they don't I'll still pay it out of my own pockets if I do land the placement.
btw, did you like it there?

I worked at Darlington Nuclear in components and equipment engineering last summer. It was great, good pay, and really interesting work. Theres sooooo much cool stuff to see in the plant. However I doubt they'll cover your ETR fees.
