Free Chevy 350 I'm going to tear it down to the shortblock this weekend then rebuild the bottom end this semester and rebuild the heads next semester.

well i got it for my college classes. the flexplate is bent, the air cleaner is trash, the fan is crap, and the fuel pump is broken off. but it doesnt matter...im interested in the long block and intake/carb.

have you gotten to the casting numbers yet? I would gather it's a mid 60's vintage based on the p/s pump, but the alternator is wrong for that that's an 80's type

yeah the alternator is definitely 80s but the AC compressor is 60s/70s. theres not even EGR but there is PCV...so i say late 60s. i can see the numbers but i dont feel like scraping crap off

the carb is trash. secondaries wont open and the choke for the primaries is gay...then the brake booster vacuum tube is broken off at the carb...its just trash.

i went out to dinner and got home at 9:30...worked til 11 and now its down to the shortblock minus one head and the pan...oh and the balancer...i dont have a puller

i have community service at 7 tomorrow so i need sleep...but im so close to done i dont know what to do

k dont know what these mean nor how to find out...

3970010

googled it and got this:

3970010 302 1969 Camaro Z/28 - 4 bolt main bearings
3970010 327 1969 2 bolt main bearings - trucks
3970010 350 1969 - 80 2 or 4 bolt main bearings

the guy told me it was a 350...so i assume its the bottom one. im go back out and pull the pan...see for myself

oh and how do i find the displacement besides miking the cylinders and measuring the stroke? is there a number?
