Sounds fair to me. Shouldn't be street racing at all. Forget risking someone elses life, be selfish and think about your own life. Common sense goes a far way.

ok so if myself and a friend roll upto a traffic light, and push it until the marked speed limit and let off...not going over lets say 60 km in a 60 max zone...popo will come and take my license away for life? and destroy my car?

Unfortunately, I don't think the "if you build it they will come" applies to tracks or some of the people around the GTA and surrounding areas.
There is Mosport and Shannonville and a couple other tracks (i think) out here in the east, but yet we still have some that will try and setup a "meet" on public streets to satisfy there speed jones.
For those that like to stright line race, well, to me, that is boring and unproven. anybody can push a pedal to the floor and shift gears, but it takes a little more skill/***** to control a car @ high speeds in series of turns combined with hard braking.... but thats just my opinion ...

Ive done all types of racing b4, each has it's own appeal and skill. I've done straight line at various lengths, cart racing, slalom, road courses (at tracks), rally raced on pavement, snow, mud, demolitions, and raced things other than cars. But high speed is not needed just to compete, racing on ice in an oval at 40kms is plenty fun - ever try rim racing? its racing on rims (no tires, steel on pavement) in select parking lots its very much like ice but no lakes are needed. If you want to just compare skills - then put everyone in the same type of car (like in IROC/celeb challenges/etc..)
main prob is that the tracks are not always open to street racers
