Smile Suggestions for mods

Hey I'm new and was wondering what suggestions you guys could give me on the best performance mods for the money (e.g. raised air lids, cai, etc.) and whether you would recommend SLP LM exhaust? My 98 Z28 is pretty much stock besides a K&N air filter and a really, really quiet Flowmaster...any suggestions would be much appreciated.
Thanks

i would stick with the small but if you plan to go big if it were my car i would go suspension first and then mod the car to fit that but that's just me

True but either way, intake an exhaust is a good fist mod no matter what way you go with.

Well I have 1972 Pontiac Ventura II Sprint that my dad and I restored, and it has true duals with glasspacks which are very loud. I've driven it since I was 16 and I'm used to the sound and volume so the single Flow on my Z is really killin me with how quiet it is. I've thought about getting the SLP "Flow Pac" setup, but I like the K&N CAI too...have you heard about any serious performance differences between the two?

If you have stock air intake setup right now, I'd get the SLP CAI over the K&N. Letting that engine breathe more will get you more power gains. STB will help if for cornering, reduces body roll. Good cheap mod to get if you drive it in the city around corners and such. Do you have emissions? If you do, get emissions ready headers and a good catback. If you don't have emissions in your city, go with LT and a good catback.

I live kinda out in the country so we have no emissions here, and there's not alot of city driving that will be done with the car until 2009 because I will be attending GA Tech in ATL then (I'm dreading it). Anyway I like the SLP CAI much better just didn't know if it performed as well, and yes everything is stock except for a K&N filter. I've heard good things about SLP LMs...any other recommendations?

Id say go with a SLP air lid and a full exhaust.. Thats what I have right now.. I am thinking of gettin a new intake manifold. Bolt ons will be your best bet right now...

What kind of exhaust are you running? I know I've looked at your car prob fifty times in the last month, but I can't remember...About how much of a diff in response and acceleration will I feel with SLP CAI w/ lid and maybe SLP LM? Feeling it is more important than gaining a few numbers on the dyno IMO.

The LM will be loud from what I hear. Those 2 mods should get your car breathing a bit more, except you'd want to at least change out that y-pipe on your car. They get narrow near the driver's side. Maybe do the headers also while you're doing the LM.

Yea I don't know if I will have the money right now to get headers too, but they are def on my wish list for the future. I prob will get an ORY when I do the exhaust tho. I see you're running GMMG...I heard an SS the other day that had GMMG w/ quad tips and it sounded awesome!

I like Borla myself as well, but the packages I've seen are a little more pricey than LMs. I like the color man...I went with Green Xtreme on my Ventura you can check the pics if ya want.

Yeah, GMMG is incredible. Love it! I had the Borla and sold it for like 250 or something. I know price might be an issue, but if you honestly browse around and be patient, you'll get a good deal. I think someone sold a Borla for like 50 bucks one time. Just gotta wait for that right deal.
