small vaccum leak

can a small vaccum leak (we're talking like 1/8inch aprox) cause the idle to be fairly rough, and or cause the car hard to start? i know it might cause the rough idle but a leak this small? and the car has been hard to start latly, it keeps cranking for like 5-10sec then it fires and i have to give it gas so the idle whill smooth out a bit but is still rough. although, sometimes the car fires up instantly... any help is appreciated

a vaccuum leak doesn't care if it's big or small, spray some carb cleaner near it and listen to the rpm's

ok, well i was working on my car the other day, and i went into the shop to get something and i left the trouble light resting on a small vaccum line, im not sure what it comes from, but its on the left side below the AC compressor, its only like 1/8 of and inch big, but anyways, the trouble light had some oil or somthing on it and caught fire :banghead: im not sure where the line leads to but there is about a foot of the line missing... anyone know how i can repair this?

go to autozone (or any parts store for that matter) and buy some line, if you don't want to find the ends get a couple splices (little plastic things) cut back to undamaged rubber and splice in
