She's home!! Z28 road trip from Colorado to Washington complete!
Yep, me and my friend flew in to Denver on Friday and we got back last night. All I can say is WOW. The car is amazing, and boy did we sure go through a crazy day on Friday. We get to Denver by 10:30, and the seller said he could make it by 11:30. Well, 11:30 roles around and I call him up. "Hey Andy ... uh, your not going to beleive this ... it overheated on the way to the airport". My heart sank to the bottom of my stomach. So he took it over to a GM dealer and they worked on it and put a new radiator cap on it and a new air dam. Well, he finally makes it to the airport at 4:30. That is 6 hours in an airport. Booo.... 6 hours of stressing out that the car i just bought isn't even working right... Well, he shows up and the car is amazing! A little dirty but gorgeous, and RUMBLING like no other. Wow, that borla is AMMMMAZING. Anyway we drive to the closest gas station to look it over and talk about the overheat deal and stuff. Me and my buddy look it over and it looks dang good. We figured out that these guys think that 10% antifreeze and 90% water is fine. We have this good feeling that this guy started it, romped on it so hard for his last drive and watched the temp needle fly up. Keep in mind Denvers elevation is sooo high and the temp outside is at least 100 degrees. Well me and my buddy have a good feeling that we could fix this problem piece of cake. The guy then said "well i feel really bad about you guys flying over here and not leaving with the car so how about I just cut 500 bucks off the price and we call it good". Long story short we knew the car didn't have any serious problem and we were right .... The car made it all 1200 miles home, running at about 185-190 in the scortching heat and 175-180 in the night!! To help we just added some antifreeze to stabilize the mixture everytime we stopped. Anyway, its here, and its FAST as hell.
Some bad things about the car are that the body kit is not in as good condition as it could be. There are 2 bolts showing in the middle of the side skirts, and its a little warped. There are no fog lights. No T-Top holders. Its so low that the air dam scrapes on almost everything. The hood clips dont look so good. The rear tires will need replacing soon (wonder why).
Some good things about it are that the dent shown on the pictures turned out to be sooo small. He cut the price 500 bucks. The original window sticker and packet were included. It's MSRP price had like 5 grand in goodies above the base Z28. The leather is in perfect condition. There were more mods than were listed: Hypertech programmer, under-drive pulley, skip-shift eliminator, and some other small ones. But the best thing of all is that this thing SCREAMS. It roars through every gear with a pull definately in the mid 13s if I drive it right. I love the borla so much, Ill have to make a sound clip, but it roars and has an amazing recoil rumble in between shifts.
Here are some pictures ... Don't mind the bug splatters, its hard to not get them on a 1200 mile trip! Oh and yeah need fog lights ... or paint it black and put my billet grille on...

Anyway, I am so happy. My first ebay car purchase went extremely well for the most part. And this thing is soo nice ... Pretty sure it beats the crap out of my old chevelle (in speed at least). The dual centerforce clutch just grabs and goes. Man, this car is fuuuuuuuuuun. More pictures, video, and sound clips to come FOR SURE!!
And for people who didn't see my post about winning the bid, here are the mods on the car: K&N filtercharger BBK aluminum intake elbow, BBK throttle body airfoil, Granetelli Hi Flow fuel pump, BBK headers (fully wrapped), 3" Stainless Borla exhaust, Taylor ignition wires, hypertech programmed, under-drive pulley, skip shift eliminator, Ground control coil-over kit, KYB adjustable shocks, Eibach springs, BMR sway bars, BMR strut tower brace, Wings West body kit with wing, 17" HRE 540 wheels, Clear corner lights front and rear, Centerforce Dual Friction clutch, 3.73 Rear differential gears, TA differential cover, Polyurethane transmission bushings, Lightweight torque arm, oh and its tinted pretty dark.
Yep, definately a good impulse bid.

looks good, needs at least a nice bath and a good waxing, that would make it shine better, but a new coat of paint wont hurt anyone...but still that looks good, the only thing i dont like on it is the hood pins

Yeah, we actually did go through Wyoming, and it did have some crazy roads. There was one stretch of 100 mile road where it was perfectly straight and not another car in sight.
Oh, the other good/crazy thing ... My insurance premium actually went down 100 bucks every 6 months from my v6. I guess my company cares more about age and not power.

Yeah, to be honest I didn't like the spoiler at first, but its kind of growing on me. It doesn't look bad with the drop and body kit. I think I will keep it for awhile until I have extra money laying around to switch it. As for the wheels, I think I will be selling them. Any offers?
