Serious Wheel Hop Problem 500HP
I have a 1996 camaro I bought the frame from a friend of a friend with a blown engine. I took the LT1 block out and machined it into a 383 stroker. I'm running about 530 Hp at the crank and just finished drilling the holes for direct port nitrous (200) shot. I'm holding off to install it until I fix some other problems. I'm running AGX adjustable gas shocks all around, and just installed a spohn performance torque arm and am running the rear end at -3 degrees. My wheel hop is still insane intil about 70 mph....Will torque arms solve my problem or am I going to have to create a whole new rear end set up...Help.

well first thing i would do is control arms, not a torque arm. a torque arm is just to link the trans and rear end. control arms will help your car keep the rear end planted. along with control arms, get some anti-squat brackets (LCA relocation brackets).

Well Caleb, you are partly correct. The torque arm is what keeps the rear-end pinion from changing angle, holding it at the correct angle to the trans. And since he mentioned that it is set at 3 I would think he already has an aftermarket torque arm.
Control arms will help a lot, but neglecting the torque arm at those numbers will do a number as well.
PS- If you haven't upgraded to a 12 bolt or 9" I wouldn't suggest you get that rear-end to hook up. If you do you will have a nice piece to look at in the garage till you do.

-3 degrees of pinion angle is alot for the street ! I would be careful with that much neg. pinion angle. You most definitely want to get a set of LCA (probably the number one thing you can do to help with wheel hop on an F-body) and get the weld-on relocation brackets and adjust the LCA according to the ride height of the car. There are two slots, if your dropped more than 2" I would use the lower holes. You might consider the BMR extreme LCA's, they have an additional adjustment in the middle to control roll-over of the axle and to help with rotation.
