SBC s10's...
hey guys... i have a 84 ext cab s10 w/ a 350 swap.. right now as it sits the truck is pretty weak.... 2bbl rochester all stock 4bolt 350... what should my 1st mods be??... i was thinking a cam followed by a non egr intake w/ a carb spacer and a 600 holley...everybody seems to do slammed s10's... i wanna do abit differnt thing and make it into a steet truck...mild drop, big rubber on the rear and some 50 seires flowmaster that dump before the axel... finished in flat balck and rolling on either z28 rime or some welds...
any thoughts?

Sounds like a plan, also you might want to consider a better ignition system and also a set of heads to really bring out the the performance of the truck, I like the flat black idea with welds:thumbsup:

edelbrock performer heads seem to be a great choice, also check out Project Car Technical Articles and Car Restoration Advice for Mopars, Muscle Cars, and Classic Cars - Car Craft Magazine there are a lot of articles on building budget motors, along with dyno charts of parts, hope this helps

i would go with a set of early 327 "fuelie" heads, 1.6 crane energizer roller rockers,on a .030 over block, comp cams solid roller cam , single plane intake manifold ( like edelbock torker II), 750 holly double pumper, msd 7al box should be good for 375-400 at the crank, or theres always the 383 stroker. with a 4-6 slam on painted smoothies with chrome centers, with black suede paint screams true hot rod

alrighty... have a question for u sbc guys...what kinda HP#'s and or times would i be looking at with this set up..
edelbrock torker intake
750 holley
cam to match
headers tp 2.5 " to flowmasters
hurst stage 2 shift kit
and a welded rear diff.. or just some 373's..
the reason i ask is cause i just grabbed the intake and carb and wanna get this bitch out for spring.. thanks!

do not weld the diff, the truck will be absolutly useless on wet pavement, id say you'll be lookin around, depending on stock figures, prlly around 250-275hp and running a 14s with a good launch
