O2 sims?

I just put in some long lube headers and deleted EGR and AIR. I havent decided if I will put the CAT back on yet so it's WIDE OPEN -WOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!. I am also going to send my PCM out to PCMforless. What should I do about the 02 sensors? I dunno if PCM can ignore them and I have been searching for sims without any luck. I will never need to worry about emissions either.

you wont pass emmissions for sure... unless you dont need them, but I believe you need those sensors.

2/3s the way down the screen. you will need to run them, unless you tell Alvin at PCM4less to disable the rear O2s in the computer that will work also, but with the O2simms your GURANTEED not to throw a code. you will need the simms for the rears or tune it out of the computer when you get the tune, but you wil need front O2s regardless as they are necesary to run the engine/PCM properly.

well regardless of emmisions your going to need to have those rears(post cat/downstream) O2s programmed out or run the simms. id recommend both.lol.

Sims

Any idea of where Cali in FL emissions is coming from? Florida got rid of emissions testing(only 6 of 67 counties did it) in 2001. It was so adamantly opposed that no one has thus far dared to submit a new law proposal. I couldn't find any drafts or proposals on FLSENATE.GOV. I hope it doesnt come about.......

And with the budget crunch here no government has the money to start doing that.

it's been on our local news, and SEMA had a thing about it. Was also mentioned in an article about Cali losing their stricter testing standard.

Well I'm sure you could hook up sims and make it look like your stock o2's are hooked up as well. Just have to be a little creative.

I had thought that there was a huge lawsuit pending against the companies that made the o2 sims and they weren't going to be made anymore...anyone know what ever came of that?

O2 Sensors

I got the headers and exhaust on, wires, etc. In other words I could turn the key and haul axe. I got hung up on installing the driver's side O2 sensor in the header. I saw that the threads were damaged in a spot and tried to fix the dent by running a similar size thread tap on it since I dont have a die that big. IT still would not go in so I grabbed one of the un-needed rear ones and it wont thread in. I'm guessing when they ceramic coating on the headers coated the bung threads.

Anyone know the size of the sensor so I can get a die?

There's no way Im pulling the header back off......:banghead:

And advice for the fellow do it yourselfers... When you are undoing the rear exhaust hangars use one hand to hold the muffler up. I have a nice shiner going.

Pacesetter was able to advise that the threads are 18mm x 1.5. I believe that is the same size as spark plug threads. Hopefully no one else has the same problem, but if they do they will have this info now!

JB Weld

I ran the thread tap through and it did not seem like it did any good- no O2 sensor will thread in. I bought another O2 sensor bung to have welded in. To save a tow bill and get it to a shop (eventually) I used JB weld to attached the sensor to the messed up bung.

Anyone ever use JB weld on headers? I dunno if it will stick long enough to get to a shop. Hopefully I will get enough of a break from work to drive it to a shop.
