Maybe joining the ranks..
I've been checking out the site for quite a while, but seeing as how I haven't actually had a Camaro, I didn't really feel like I could contribute anything worthwhile, but that may change.
Apparently a friend of my dads is selling an 86 IROC for $400. The catch is, he wants to keep the engine and tranny, and the car doesn't have a hood. It also has a cracked windshield. I'll be going on Saturday possibly to check it out. It is a T-Top, so I'm concerned about rust. Are there any particular things I should be looking for as far as the body goes?
I don't know what pieces of the drivetrain he'll want to keep, if any. I guess the plan is to pull the engine and transmission out of our truck, a 400 SB / 4 Speed automatic, and drop them into the car. Should be interesting if the whole thing works out like I hope.
BTW, first post.

First off welcome to
You wouldn't be the first person to join that didn't own a Camaro yet. One is now a super moderator with a nicly modified Camaro.
We're here to help out so if you have any questions just ask.

welcome... Id say 400 is a pretty good price, depending on the milage and condition of the body. If you have an engine and tranny lined up, sounds like your set. Windshield might cost a bit, but youll find plenty of hoods.. stock or aftermarket. Anyways, the site is project camaro
