Looking for some input on my window issue

I drive a 2000 Z28 and i have power windows. My problem is that my driver side window sometimes just does not want to go up, unless i try a few times or wait a minute or two. Anyone else have this problem?

Its a VERY common problem among all GM window motors. You can either replace the motor, or repair it, there is a writeup on the net, just google it.

Sounds as though the motor/ regulator is just about done. Very common. Go here for how to replace them. http://shbox.com/page/windowmotor.html

I would only replace it as a set. I also get them from a local chevy dealer who gives club discounts. The cheapo ones wear out to quick from what I have seen. Sure they might come with a warr. but I don't like to do things more than once.

I use used ones myself, the aftermarket ones suck, the dealers usually won't sell tehm over teh counter (they require an install too) hopefully the companies realize how bad the design is and go back to the one that worked (the new cable ones have a huge failure rate)

Jennings chevrolet in Illinois is where we get ours from. We get a nice discount and they carry a ton of F body stuff.

I love my power windows when they work- the 10 seconds I have to devote to letting them go up however sucks. I will be modding them so that I won't have to worry about that anymore however.
