Question I have few questions..

Since I just got the car, and no owners manual, I been having some hard time finding some answers to the questions that I have .. here are few .. i know i have more just cant think of them :

1. gauges
a. battery .. where is that needle suppose to be ? I am assuming not on the
red? it goes 0 13 18 ?
b. oil? .. i think thats what it is lol
c. trip/oil reset how do i play with that? lol

ps. i didnt have that many before so not familiar at what they are suppose to be

and heres a silly one ...

When do I shift? some people say 2.5 to 3 rpms some say 4 etc etc .. i know i have to feel the car and its around the 2.5 to 3 rpms ..

so thnx..

a. Between 13 and the hash between 13 and 18 (which is about 15.5). You always want at least 12 volts to know your battery is in good condition. Mines usually a little above 13.
b.oil pressure is what it is. Right around the middle marker is optimum.
c. the trip reset can be used for whatever.. just hit that button to rest it. Use it to check your gas milage To reset your oil light or whatever, just hold it down for 12 seconds.

As per shifting. anywhere from 2k-3k would be fine, 3k is a little high.
I believe my auto shifts like this: 1-2 (2.5k), 2-3(2-2.5k)3-4(2k)

is it normal when u start the car to be on that red block closer to the 18 on the battery? then it goes a little lower which might be around the 15's? or should my first little mod be buying like optima or whatever is good?

Hm.. I dunno if its normal to be close to the 18.. mine is usually on the red on the left side when my key is turned to "on" position.

Same.

I have a voltmeter in mine other than stock, just to fill the hole before I put the boost gauge in , and it never goes above 14.

If mine sits at idle for a while its usually around the middle, but when driving its usually between the middle and the high end. I just had a new alternator about 4000 miles ago if that helps or makes a diff.
