Fuel odor inside

Hi!.
I have a 94 Z28 i bought a few months ago. The problem is that from time to time i get this fuel odor inside the car while i'm driving. Initially i was thinking that it could be due to a tank overfill, but recently this problem is almost all the time. What can it be??? could it be dangerous??? The smell is also near to the fuel cap. Thankx!

maybe the fuel cap doesn't seal all the way... i doubt you would smell that inside the car though. yes of course it COULD be dangerous, its gas

Might be the charcol canister. Epic started doing that and i replaced it. The smell went away after a while.

I pulled my canister so I don't get the smell anymore. They aren't that hard to get to either despite the location. Just pull your LR tire and the inner plastic and its right there. Just a couple hoses connected to it.

Alright! just to learn a bit, what's the objective of the charcoal canister, and how a failure like that puts that smell into my car??? Thank u very much!

charcoal canister is where some residual fuel goes and is supposed to be reintroduced into the intake, the smell comes from the filter getting dirty, and then having an open container of gas (think 1 gallon gas can in your trunk and you get the idea)

rebuild what you have is best, but I bet you still find your odor is not from teh engine (it would barely run if it got that much gas)
