Exclamation "Camaro Bogging!"

Hey guys i have a 98' V6 Maro and i dont know if this has happen to you guys before but whenever I was getting on the freeway (going up on the onramp) and my car started acting like it was giving out. As in whenever i tried to accelerate more it would jerk some and then start slowing down

I checked the gas and i was about half way

This is a problem ive had before and one place said it was my catalytic converter, so i got that replaced. But its happening again.

Anyone know whats going on!?!?! Thanks

fuel filter, throttle position sensor (not real likely), needs tune up all can do that.Do a tune up and replace the fuel filter (those never hurt to do anyway)

it sounds like youre describing a hesitation in acceleration...plug wires and/or plugs.

If your idling is rough and engine skips then its probably sparkplugs/wires/Ignition Coils. I know this from personal Experience. Also It might be bad EGR Valve. Based on your post thats about all I can think of of what It might be, Tell us more detail about the bad symptoms.

Ahhh man, you guys I had to call in to work cuz of this today!!! Heres what happen

I was driving along, everything was working fine. Then i make the left turn at the stop light then next thing you know.... *SPASM* *SPASM* Jerk Jerk dead.....

So now im in the middle of traffic, car dead, People honking and not to mention the wave of middle fingers i got!

After calling for a ride a tried to turn it on and it works, i start driving and its doing it a lil bit again. After me and a buddy clean my air flow filter (which hadn't been cleaned in a long time) we take it on a lil joy ride for it to die again on the freeway!

We believe it also has to be a fuel problem. So thats how the story goes, Camaro keeps hurtin me!

fuel filter should be replaced every 12,000 miles or so, more often if you buy gas when teh tanker is there, or run the tank real low

Here is what you can do:
1. Go have a diagnostic ran on your car if you have no friends who knows jack about camaros.
2. Listen for unusual sounds under hood while engine is running and tell us about it.
3. Try replaceing the ful filter because if its glogged up then that means your car is starving for fuel.
4.. i unno..

I suggest buying a K&N Air FLow filter. Its worth the money.

Well heres an update for all.

I took it to the Chevy dealership this morning and turns out to be my Catalytic Converter. I just had that replaced by a side shop ABCO to be technical, but they've been jippin me ever since my brakes (kept squeelin). So yeah, its gonna cost about $700 to get it fixed. Such a d*mn shame.

not the factory one. I would take it back to the con shop and have tehm replace it, there should have been a warranty on teh new cat (and don't let the car sit idling any more that eats cats)

Well for your brakes they should have put lubricant on them (Comes w/ brakes) Also you have a warrenty for the brakes, whether you choice the 30 day warrenty or lifetime, im willing to bet you chose the 30 day cause its cheaper.

and $700 for them to replace the Cat?? dude thats just freakin stupid.
Go to a local Autozone or whatever and pick up a nice Universal Hi-Flow Catalyic Converter. They work better than the Factory converters on camaros anyways, they are designed to work better really. Shouldnt be no more than $130 or so, I dont really know.

Don't pay that much for them to fix a cat.
