The stick is the stick that attaches to the shifter and has the shift **** on it.
Here you can see the stick attached to the shifter.

I called B&M about it today. It wont work. The reason the Lou's works with the Hurst is because its a 2 peice shifter, and you can unbolt the shaft. The old B&M Rippers are made the same, but the new ones (like mine) are 1 peice, and you cannot remove the shaft.
Looks like my only option of making it smaller would be getting it machined down.

If you are unsure of the height you want to go, just cut down the stock one till you get a decent height to work with- i know the pivots are a little different, but at least you'll have an idea of what height you want to end up with.
I will tell you this- the B&M I had ended up being a little too short. The short shifts were awesome, but it made getting into reverse a pain. It was short enough all it took was a roll of the wrist to shift gears- my arm stayed in the same place on the console..
