I'm just curious as to how many of you have upgraded the braking system. I mean More than a set of SS(stainless steel) lines, and pads. I mean To my knowledge, braking is low on the list of priorities. Speed, looks, and handling seem to come before these things. Right, or..........

are the SS calipers any better than the Z calipers? I know that the Cobra calipers are a good, bang for the buck upgrade for my car. JW

well, can you pick them up for cheap? I mean a set of 2 pistons, and some good slotted rotors with some semi-metallic pads, and SS lines would probably work pretty well compared to stock.

I swapped my stock C5 brakes with Z06 calipers, SS lines, slotted/drilled rotors, ceramic pads and noticed 0 difference

If you're not autocrossing there is really no reason to swap brakes. I did mine for appearance factor only.

Prolly the cheapest upgrade for an LT1 is get a set of LS1 caliper/rotor set. The Lt1's on came with 12" where the LS1 came with 13"...other than that there are plenty other parts I can buy for the $1300 IMO...

I agree. I was curious, because archemedes and I were having a discussion about brakes being very low on the list of priorities.

I've upgraded to HPS Hawk pads and slotted rotors but that's it for now. I'll get ss lines before to long.

the 93-97 front brakes were single piston and were the same for V8 and V6, and for rears, if the V6s had rear disc, they were also single piston and were the same. as for 98-02 the fronts were two piston and the rears were single, and both were the same for V8 and V6.

I don't count the early 4th since they use the same brake caliper as the front drivers and were horrible to start with
